Metuchen Woman Makes 100th Donation to New Brunswick Affiliated Hospitals Blood Center at RWJ

Deborah Chalfin started donating platelets at the New Brunswick Affiliated Hospitals Blood Center in 1998 and has visited the center each month since. She and the NBAH staff recently celebrated a milestone: Chalfin’s 100th donation.

Mama Mare Breast Cancer Foundation Dedicates Healing and Education Center on Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Oncology Unit

One of the Mama Mare Breast Cancer Foundation’s first projects recently came to fruition with the dedication of a Healing and Education Center named in honor of Founder Krista Kasper’s mother, Mary Ellen Pernice, on Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s (RWJUH) 4-North Oncology Unit.
Hillsborough Man Makes 106th Donation Visit to the New Brunswick Affiliated Hospitals Blood Center (NBAH)

Hillsborough resident Sean Moroney isn’t someone who lets weather or holidays deter him from donating platelets regularly. Moroney recently surpassed the century mark for donation visits, with a total of 106 at the NBAH, located at RWJUH and UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Amy Foundation Donates $10K to Establish Diagnostic Ultrasound Program at RWJUH

The Amy Foundation has donated $10,000 to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Foundation to establish "The Amy Fund" to support diagnostic procedures, such as ultrasounds, for women whose mammograms suggest the possibility of breast cancer.

A team of researchers has found that New Jersey patients admitted on weekends and holidays to a hospital designated a Comprehensive Stroke Center do not have a higher mortality rate than patients admitted during the week.
