The Pediatric Orthopedic Program at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is recognized as the premier provider of pediatric orthopedic care in the region.

Highly Trained Board-Certified Pediatric Orthopedic Specialists
We have brought together a team of highly trained orthopedic specialists with the skill and expertise to provide world-class care for the unique needs of children.
Our pediatric orthopedists are all board-certified, which means they have had additional training focused exclusively on orthopedic ailments found in children and how a child’s future growth and development will affect treatment. Because our physicians focus on different subspecialties within the field, we are able to formulate the best treatment program for each child’s specific situation.
Child-Centered Care
At the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital, pediatric orthopedic patients are treated like children, not mini-adults. We understand that children and their growing bodies need special care.
Many orthopedic conditions and injuries occur exclusively in children. General orthopedic training alone is not always comprehensive enough to effectively address these issues.
When orthopedists treat children on an occasional basis, they very often lack the experience and specialized knowledge necessary to successfully manage or treat pediatric conditions.
Because our program only treats children, we are able to provide the extra level of expertise needed to effectively care for them as their muscles and bones grow and develop.
Our team knows how a child’s future growth will affect treatment. We realize the significant impact that a positive outcome will have on a child’s life as an adult.
Multidisciplinary Team Approach
Some children with complex problems may require the expertise of a variety of pediatric specialists beyond those in our Pediatric Orthopedic Program. For situations that require a multidisciplinary approach, BMSCH offers a wealth of expertise in every pediatric field, including radiology, anesthesiology, endocrinology, oncology, neurology and urology.
Whenever necessary, specialists from across the spectrum of care will work together to meet the needs of our young orthopedic patients.
